Customized 5-day Group Tour through Bucharest, Bran, Sighisoara, Sibiel, Sibiu
Day 1: Bucharest
After arriving in Bucharest, a guided tour leads you around the most important sights of Romania’s capital. Visit the Palace of Parliament and Village Museum, where you can see over 70 farms and churches from all corners of Romania. Continue to George Enescu Museum located in the former Cantacuzino Palace,one of the most beautiful art nouveaux building in Romania. Continue to the “Revolution Square”, where among others the Romanian Athenaeum is located. Drive to the Cotroceni Palace, today’s official residence of the Romanian president, and part of which is open to public as a museum. Dinner with a traditional Romanian folk show and overnight. (D)
Day 2: Bucharest – Sinaia – Brasov
After breakfast, depart for Sinaia. Following a visit to the romantic Peles Castle, and a lunch of traditional Romanian hunter’s dishes in Sinaia, on to the old town centre of Brasov, then to Poiana Brasov and dinner with traditional dishes. (B, L, D)
Day 3: Brasov – Bran – Sighisoara
After breakfast, departure for Brasov and the magnificent old medieval castle where Dracula’s legend lives on. Lunch at Cheile Gradistei, amid beautiful mountain scenery. Depart for medieval city of Sighisoara, famous UNESCO site, which remarked itself as a big handicraft and cultural centre. Enjoy dinner at ‘Vlad Dracul’ Restaurant in the house where Count Dracula was born. (B, L, D)
Day 4: Sighisoara – Sibiel – Sibiu
After breakfast, leave for Sibiel and a visit to a glass icon workshop. A traditional country lunch in Sibiel follows, then transfer to Sibiu for sightseeing. (B, L, D)
Day 5: Sibiu – Bucharest
After breakfast, depart for Oltului, the most spectacular river valley in Romania. We then visit Horezu and learn how to make Romanian pottery, and take part in lunch-making in a traditional Romanian house and enjoy the delicacies. Transfer to Bucharest airport for departure. (B, L)
